Laura Parker, LMT

Licensed Massage Therapist

Having worked in a number of therapeutic settings, I’ve developed an integrated approach to wellness. I’ve studied a broad range of conditions including migraines, fibromyalgia, low back pain, concussions, Parkinson's, PTSD, and more. I believe whole-heartedly in a holistic approach that doesn’t separate the mind & the body but treats it as one.

I primarily provide integrated sessions of several modalities. Each session is tailored to individual needs for that particular day, whether that includes improving sleep, movement or pain relief. Modalities can include Myofascial Release, Active Isolated Stretching, Rolfing, and more. Sessions can include silicon cupping, dolphin neurostim, bamboo or hot stones.

Very gentle modalities such as cranial sacral, connective tissue, sustained positional release, dolphin neurostim or lymphatic drainage can be added to a session or stand alone. These are particularly helpful with inflammation, chronic pain, scars, injuries or surgery. Myofascial release has been proven to be one of the most effective techniques for pain release and is a slow, effective way to reach deep tissues without too much pressure.

I have many interests including hiking and just being outside in nature, crafts, dancing, and traveling. I like to combine travel with teaching CE's, having taught in Iceland, Costa Rica, Hawaii, Alaska, and elsewhere. I enjoy swimming, kayaking and other water activities, including most recently Aquazumba. Along with my 2 adult children, I teach CPR for the American Red Cross and American Heart Association as both an instructor and instructor trainer.

I enjoy constantly learning new things. I know that education and having control over one’s being is the first step to wellness.
